2010 Istanbul Conference
Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel
23-26 May 2010

Our 2010 Biennial Conference will be held at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.

Over the centuries the cross roads of East and West, the great city of Istanbul continues to combine its rich cultural tradition with a thriving modern economy, not least in the transformation of its healthcare system. Our host Dr Omer Karahan, CEO of leading private hospital and insurance provider Acibadem Health has played an invaluable role in bringing the iFHP to Turkey, and can be depended on for a warm welcome to our members from around the world.

We are assembling a faculty of distinguished speakers for the conference business programme on a variety of themes relevant to our members. These vary from Professor  Rawlins, Chairman of NICE , who will discuss the UK approach to assessment of high cost  new drugs and technologies, to Karen Ignagni, CEO of AHIP, Washington with an inside view of the latest state of play in President Obama's universal health coverage initiative.  We are very pleased to welcome Dr Hans Rosling of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, renowned for his provocative  view of the use and abuse of health statistics. For a full list speakers confirmed to date and brief biographies please click on "speakers".

Please register as soon as you can. In the light of the prevailing economic climate we have succeeded in keeping costs below those of our last major events, despite the huge and growing popularity of Istanbul as a destination. However, we have considered it prudent to be cautious with the number of rooms to which we are irrevocably committed, and therefore can not guarantee late registrants will obtain a room in the conference hotel.

Please note - this event is open to paid-up iFHP members only
