The Board of Vhi Healthcare has announced the appointment of Mr John O'Dwyer as Chief Executive of Vhi Healthcare.  Mr O'Dwyer will take up his position on 1st August 2012. He is currently on secondment to their Greek company ‘Interamerican’, the second biggest insurer in Greece where he is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director with responsibility for the Life, General and Health businesses.

Commenting on his appointment Mr O'Dwyer said "I am delighted to be joining Vhi Healthcare as Chief Executive and look forward to working with the organisation and all its stakeholders in the coming months.

In a separate announcement Bernard Collins, Chairman of Vhi Healthcare announced that he will step down from the Board of Vhi Healthcare with effect from 8th September 2012. Mr. Collins has been Chairman of the Board since September 2003 and has served nine years in that role.

Announcing his resignation from the Board, Bernard Collins said "It has been my privilege to serve 9 years as Chairman of Vhi Healthcare and I feel the time is right to pass over the helm to someone new, which allows adequate transition time for the recently appointed CEO John O'Dwyer
