Discovery acquires Standard Life Healthcare

Discovery Holdings Ltd, the JV owner of PruHealth, announced it had agreed to acquire Standard Life Healthcare for £138m.
As a result of the acquisition PruHealth will cover 700,000 lives with an annual premium income of £370m and 11% of the UK PMI market.
Standard Life Healthcare is the UKs 4th largest PMI provider with a current market share of 8% with 490,000 lives covered.
